We’ve also made a new edition of an art print I made of the Cortland Street Bridge in Chicago, which is right around the corner from our old studio—which is now the HQ for @thenightministry, which is arguably a better use of that building than anything we ever did there (mostly blasting Propagandhi at full volume with @justinsantora and eating candy, if memory serves).
The Cortland Street Bridge was built in 1902, and it was the first fixed-trunnion drawbridge in the U.S., and obviously it was the first of MANY in Chicago, and a crucial element of the landscape there. It was also a CRUCIAL route across the Chicago River on many, many walks over to @hideoutchicago and the longer trek over to @eatcba.
This drawing was originally used for a poster for the Hideout Block Party in Chicago (which I believe was the final @deathcabforcutie show with their original guitarist Chris Walla? I think?). Those sold out immediately (totally 100% sold out), so I’ve periodically made some art prints of it here and there, because it’s a really nice bridge and it’s been nice to me. Okay bye!
