About this poster
This one started out as an analog pencil drawing, which I then pulled into Photoshop to do a lot more digital coloring than usual (hey thanks True Grit Texture Supply for making incredible brushes for tackling this sort of thing!). Then I pulled it all apart again to make it screenprintable, and then of course we printed them ourselves here at Landland.
The image itself is based on the Jerrassic Park metal sculpture garden outside of the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach. I was digging around for regional references and really locked onto these rusty metal beasts baking in the sun over there. Something about the jagged bits of spot-welded egg shells really reminded me of the playground equipment of my youth, which they clearly don’t make anymore (probably for good reason).
