About this poster
Back in January I got to follow up my @jasonisbell Seattle poster with another one for Los Angeles! I put this artwork together based on the aesthetic of antique sheet music. The research portion of poster work always has me going down fun rabbit holes of illustration and design, and this time it was no different. I went with a Faustian theme, pulling inspiration from posters and sheet music artwork done for Goetheβs play. It depicting a devilish figure absolutely shredding on her weird medieval axe. The βsold your soul to the devilβ trope is quite a common legend in music history (the most famous example being Robert Johnson) so it seemed like a fun road to go down for this design. And I gotta mention that the devil horn jester hat is inspired by the beautiful crochet work of @franmakestuff π Due to those amazing big beautiful tariffs I couldnβt print these posters myself, but the silver lining is that I got to collaborate with the lovely folks at @friendlyarctic once again and they knocked the printing out of the park AGAIN. I donβt have any copies of my own to sell though π Thanks to Jasonβs behind the scenes folks and the talented team at Friendly Arctic for making this thing come to life!
