About this poster
This is the second poster in a connected diptych for 311's performances at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, expanding on the cosmic themes established in the first poster. Where the first poster focused on the astronaut/soundsystem character in detail, this piece pulls back to reveal the larger alien world they inhabit.
The scene shows a solitary figure in a spacesuit (the same boombox-equipped explorer from the first poster) standing among towering, crystalline mountains rendered in electric blues and deep purples. Above them looms a massive celestial body - perhaps a sun or nearby planet - depicted in swirling patterns of orange, yellow, and red that suggest violent solar activity or atmospheric turbulence.
The stark landscape is dotted with sharp, angular peaks that reach toward the sky, creating a forbidding yet beautiful alien terrain. The cosmic background features a scattering of stars and nebulous clouds in rich purples and blues, emphasizing the otherworldly setting.
At the bottom of the composition, the band's "311" logo appears to glow with an internal energy, floating above the surface like a portal or sigil.
