About this poster
It is always great working with Dirty Heads, and each job presents a new set of challenges and opportunities. When I got the call for this gig, I saw that the show was in New Hampshire. My immediate thoughts were, "sweet, a perfect opportunity for an ocean scene with an octopus...maybe fighting a whale." So that was my mindset before actually researching Swanzey, NH...which is nowhere near the ocean. But it has some beautiful river scenes with historic covered bridges. Thus, I depicted the closest covered bridge to the venue: Cressen Bridge, which spans the Ashuelot River. While the Ashuelot River has great wildlife, such as otters and trout, there are no octopuses. But I still really wanted to draw an octopus. So I have him flying in the sky, because that is the only way an octopus could be in this scene. He should also be holding mushrooms, because flying octopuses carry mushrooms with them. It's science. Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this one and hope you all enjoy it!
