About this poster
I started dabbling with integrating some cyanotype on this project. Really just scratching the surface, but it gave me a lot of ideas of how I might be able to use it going forward. Got to do a lot of this at the beginning of July, when I was home visiting family in Ohio. My wife, daughter and nephew helped with the prints - which is what makes this project the most special.
Color-wise, if you can’t tell, I love using very bright, very intense colors. Just so happens that BIG MODERN! also incorporates the colors of my latest comfort-zone. I purchased a lot of incredible vintage San Diego ephemera off eBay. Brochures, San Diego Zoo magazine, Sea World marketing materials. I can’t express enough how fun it is to start a project without knowing how it will turn out. That exploration of ‘finding’ the piece in the process is what I’m jamming on these days.
