About this poster
Image taken from a 1913 woodcut by artist Edmund Sullivan, originally done to illustrate the 26th quatrain of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, this block print underscores the verse "The Flower that once has blown for ever dies."
The artist later released Skeleton and Roses, an art print featuring a similar design.
This is FD-26-PP-6, the famous 1971 “San Francisco Poster Co” Skeleton and Roses poster made from the same plates as the Bindweed Press FD-26-RP-3 plates. It even has the same crescent shaped printing flaw to the right of the skull just above the top ribbon, as do all authorized Bindweed Press poster printings of FD-26.
