Phil Lesh
Philip Chapman Lesh was a founding member and bassist for the Grateful Dead throughout their 30-year career. He was known for his experimental, improvised style of playing six-string bass guitar. Lesh also sang harmonies and occasionally lead vocals for the band, and co-wrote some of their most notable songs. His love of classical music and improvisational jazz influenced his playing, which blended with Jerry Garcia's guitar to create the Dead's unique sound.
