Pleased to present new work for Metallica celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of Ride The Lightning!
⚡️🩸💀🩸⚡️
This album is a true thrash metal classic so it was a true privilege to be tasked with providing my visual rendition of Creeping Death; one of Metallica's most enduringly popular and frequently-played tracks. It is inspired by The Ten Commandments which depicts the dark story of the anthropomorphic Biblical plague of Egypt which takes the form of The Angel of Death, heralding the demise of every first born child left unguarded by doors unstained with the blood of lambs. For this I visualized a reaper-like figure with an eclipse halo, rotten wings and a splattered scythe surrounded by pyramids, a burning bushing a pile of bloodied bones including a full lamb skeleton, rhythmic tufts of psychedelic smoke and thrashing, thickened rivulets of blood and water, all encased in a kinetic circular arc simmering with bleakness as well as the album’s iconic blue electricity.
