About this poster
In the artwork of FD-86, also known as the "Flower Pot," the blue foil that encircles the vase yields an intriguing surprise when inverted - it forms the graceful profile of a woman's face. The left side of the vase handle cleverly transforms into her flowing ponytail on the right side.
In collaboration with Rhino Entertainment, I am proud to announce the re-issue of 5 of my most popular and iconic Family Dog posters. The edition size is limited to 500 signed/numbered prints, 5 dedicated prints to Rhino and 100 signed/numbered Artist Edition prints, 5 dedication prints to myself plus 1 Artist proof to myself and 1 proof to the printer.
Each image was originally created by me as a poster to advertise a Family Dog Dance Concert at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco in 1967. I supervised the re-creation of the image. Digital separations were re-mastered from the original Family Dog posters and my original art. The edition was printed on a 6 color Mitsubishi offset lithography press in San Francisco.
All prints were approved by myself and the plates used to create these were destroyed after the edition was printed. I personally numbered and signed all the prints in the edition. There are no other examples of these editions other than described above.
