"When I was putting together the poster illustration for the Dirty Heads show in Corpus Christi, Texas, I was really drawn to the amazing artwork by David Foral on their album covers. I wanted to bring the essence of their music into the design by incorporating that inspiration. The goal was to have the symbols to speak their own meaning to the viewer, yet the gateway holds an undeniable significance—it's an invitation to explore a different world.
The Dirty Heads' music has this incredible ability to transport me to distant places with each track, and I wanted to capture that experience in this art. Symbolically, the gateway represents transcendence, inviting people to embark on a transformative journey through the power of incredible music and positive lyrics. It embodies the profound impact that Dirty Heads' music has on listeners: an entrance to uncharted emotions, a spark for imagination, and a path to discovering new aspects within one’s self.
Ultimately, the poster expresses my admiration for David Foral's symbolic artwork and aims to signify the depth of the band's music. This artwork invites everyone who sees it to embark on an extraordinary voyage, carried away by the melodic currents of the Dirty Heads, and find a new perspective within the captivating realms that their music unveils in each song."
