About this poster
"I'm happy to be able to offer you a print from a seminal time period in my career. It seems fair to say that there are phases in every artist's life that become defined after a certain amount of time passes. This particular painting titled "Cross Section" represents the last of the paintings from the 2006-2007 series that included "Boardwalk", "Night Birds", "Summer in New York City", and "Living Room". For me it is definitely the product of city life. Whether it's seen as an aerial perspective or an eye level perspective or a psychological perspective it is unmistakably representative of the deeply entrenched city life that I lived at that time. It's safe to say that I spent nearly 95 percent of a solid quarter century on the island of Manhattan. "Cross Section" is for me a quintessential depiction of that time." - DW
