About this poster
"A Letter To..." is a follow up companion piece to my submission in last years Lights Out show which featured Jimi Hendrix. The idea of a gallery show based around black lights and glow in the dark inks brings out the classic rock fan in me, and in my eyes is the perfect excuse to create a series of Guitar Gods inspired by the old blacklight posters of the 60's and 70's. My intention with this series isn't to create a portrait, it's to capture the essence of a rock star. The stance, arch of the back, the bow being dragged across the strings as the speaker stacks scream... all on a psychedelic liquid light show of the pre-digital era."
