About this poster
"The scroll will have the date of Hendrix' death. The concept is Hendrix traveling through the vortex between the earthly plane and the next dimension. The abandoned gas station is a symbol of his untimely transition. His guitar is unplugged and he is reflecting on the loss of his own brief but incredible life. Once I created that setting I became intrigued with Hendrix. I did some research on his death and started listening to some of the Rainbow Bridge tracks. I had no idea that he overdosed on his girlfriends Belgian prescriptions sleeping pills. I found that even more tragic than my misconception that he overdosed on intravenous heroin. It made it seem a lot more accidental. So I wanted to depict him as being somewhat stunned at his own demise. The scene is melancholy and hopeful at the same time... I hope."
