How to Store Your Posters

Proper storage can help protect posters from physical damage and environmental deterioration.

Store Posters Flat When Possible

Flat storage in archival portfolios, flat files, or archival boxes can reduce unnecessary stress and help protect posters from folds and creases. Use acid-free and archival materials whenever possible.

Tubes Are for Transport, Not Long-Term Storage

Shipping tubes are excellent for transportation but are generally not the preferred solution for long-term storage. Prints stored rolled for extended periods can develop significant curl.

Control the Environment

Avoid excessive humidity, heat, direct sunlight and other environmental conditions that can accelerate paper deterioration. A stable environment is preferable to dramatic fluctuations.
