Lux Sit And Dance
The inception of Seattle’s light show scene can be traced to November 5, 1966, when KRAB radio—a trailblazing community-based FM station—hosted a benefit concert in Kirkland. This landmark event sparked the creation of both Lux Sit And Dance and the Union Light Company, two iconic collectives that would shape the region’s artistic identity.
Lux Sit And Dance stood at the crossroads of East Coast and West Coast lightshow traditions, blending diverse aesthetics, cultural influences, and innovative techniques. Though its run was brief, the stories and characters of this vibrant period continue to illuminate Seattle’s artistic history.
