Scott Hall (Speed)
Born in the South, Speed, a former Gainesville resident who later settled in California, was known for his bold, graphic artwork infused with political metaphors and themes. Beyond his contributions to music-related art, he also collaborated with organizations such as the NAACP, the Nation of Islam, and the Seven-Percenters.
Speed's artistic journey began in the music scene, first as a member of the band Homestyle, touring alongside Uncle Tupelo. While in Gainesville, he launched his career as a poster artist, working with Less Than Jake. His reach eventually extended internationally, with his work featured as far as Rock City in Nottingham, England.
