As a painter, I create surfaces driven by intuitiveness. Working with the idea of immediacy allows for the conceptual process between elements and materials. The playfulness of abstraction pushes the thought of shape and form within a particular genre of painting. A creative process of graphic mark-making with an array of fabric designs are artworks of pastoral colors, line and complex patterns. The elements lead to areas of spatial reference and anthropomorphic imagery. The outcome brings attention to formal art principals and a visual language used to create a pleasing compositional arrangement. My focus is primarily on using tactile materials and paint on canvas and wood panels. Mixing smooth and rough edges, linear drawings, layered with accidental ‘responses’… completes my experimental art making experience.
