Surf-punk/power-pop from Sydney’s Surfside Six, formed in 1980. The band released two singles on the Phantom label, both produced by Radio Birdman’s Chris Masuak. The A-side of their second single, “Can’t You See the Sign,” echoes the sound of Radio Birdman, The Visitors, and early Hitmen with an ominous, driving edge. Following the band’s breakup, keyboardist Toby Creswell became editor of Rolling Stone (Australia) and a founding editor of Juice.
