This one was made a bit more special being my local show on their current tour.
Had to look through the archives to realize it’s been 9 years since that first poster I designed for their Cleveland show. Damn. It’s not lost on me how fortunate I’ve been for the opportunities to represent them since. As someone who loves live music, having just a small role in peoples’ show-going experience and memories is really something awesome. Even when attending design school eons ago, I wouldn’t have imagined doing this kind of work. Not a chance. The mere notion was relegated to dreaming and bullshitting with my classmates.
With tonight’s show being so close, this will be the first time I’ve seen Guns N’ Roses live. Honestly can’t wait. To top off the experience, I’m bringing my wife and two teenage sons. This will be their first time seeing my work on this scale in the wild. For most of my sons’ lives they were too young to really understand my work and what I do. Sharing this experience and my work like this, with them, is something I won’t forget.
