About this poster

Loosely inspired by the regions history with UFO's and some poltergeist activity that happened in the area years ago. I wanted to create a scene where the aliens are getting ready for the concerts taking over the city the next two nights. Lots of fun things hidden throughout the scene that tie things back into Billy and the Portsmouth area.


I have been wanting to do a scene like this for awhile, I guess I am in a bit of a nostalgic kick as I am getting closer to my 40's. Lots of incredible memories of my childhood and sitting around the TV with family, toys and my pup. I tried to remember my childhood living room as much as possible and channel that into the art. It was a lot of fun working on this one and really brought back so many great memories.


The poster is really special to me for many reasons, but most recently the timing of this release and the art itself remind me a lot of my father. He passed away unexpectedly last week and it has understandably been a tough time processing all of that. The universe tends to do weird stuff like this sometimes and releasing this poster now just carries so much more meaning to me.


Yesterday at his funeral, looking through photos, I actually found a photo of me as a baby with him sitting in that exact living room. I couldn't believe how similar the scene feels in that photo to this poster. The room layout and little details with the father and son enjoying time together. It has made this whole poster incredibly special to me. I included that photo in the last slide.


I'm sorry to ramble here and bring some heaviness onto this, but I just can't stop thinking about all of this. I'm proud of myself and I know he is proud of me too.

I say this all the time, but really, I am so, so grateful to live this life. Being an artist has always been a dream of mine, and living that reality is just very surreal to me sometimes.
