About this poster
When I was asked to take on this project, admittedly time was very tight (on my end). So, before agreeing to the project, I decided to see if I could come up with a an intriguing concept relatively quick. As I often do when starting research for projects, I searched for βgreat trees (Syracuse)β and what I found was something quite unique. This time it was a tree as a work of art created by Sam Van Aken at Syracuse University. The tree was grown and grafted to produce 40 different stone fruits and expresses a variety of flowers and leaves.

In an interview, Sam described the tree as a sort of Frankenstein and it immediately made me think of this tree-headed figure Iβd been tinkering with in my personal sketchbooks for the past couple of years. I was happy to bring this figure out of the bound-pages and can be sure that this will not be the last youβll see of this arbor- character.
