About this poster
I’m always honored to work with an awesome team and band. I’ve worked on the Jones Beach poster for 311 several times in the past, I wanted to create something a little different this time. I’ll share this story, and try to keep it as short as possible.
I’m from the East Coast, grew up in Queens. I then moved to Korea Town DTLA. From there I moved to OC, Stanton and Anaheim to be exact. And all around SoCal to be honest, but I’ve been in Anaheim for the last 10 years. The one thing that has been a constant in my life is art, and graffiti art really allowed me to find my wings. Ever since I was a kid, graffiti has surrounded me. It’s like it was for me since day 1. New York and Los Angeles were the epicenter for each coast, and I was there, at the core of the cities. So now, I wanted to put these 2 together. Being in Anaheim, Dland is the thing, so I had to go with the hand and the can. To be honest, the 311 logo has always looked like a hand tag to me, so I put it all together and váyala! It’s all mixed up, but makes sense to me 😁
By the way, that was the song that rang through my head the whole time. Oh also, being that as an artist and graffiti artist, I live that night life, make sure and turn out the lights when you get this print! 😉🌛🌕
