About this poster
I did a poster for the @clutchofficial US tour with @coccabal & @jd_pinkus Good fun to play around with a few Clutch lyrics and song titles and incorporating those themes in the artwork. They have quite an extensive catalogue of music these days with loads of visually striking lyrics and song titles. The theme for this particular poster was mainly inspired by their self titled album released in 1995 and for those who know that one it might not be too hard to figure out some of the stuff in the artwork. I hope the Clutch fans will dig it!
The first time I saw them live was at the Limelight in NYC(CMJ Music Festival) in 1995 touring for the self titled album. Odd bill with Warrior Soul, X-Cops and Skid Row. I dislocated my shoulder in the pit when they played Marcusπ€π»
Lifeβs a strange journey though and as things panned out Iβve been very fortunate to play guest keyboards live with them on odd gigs and shorter tours all over the place for almost 25 years. As well as recording keys on one of the Bakerton Group albums, El Rojo. Iβve never played the tune Marcus live with them though, might be best for my shoulder to keep it that wayβ¦
For those visiting their shows in the US now thereβs the blue and the yellow numbered versions available at the merch, pic 3 is the βoriginalβ one I did in orange colors.
As always, it was an honor and a pleasure to do this as theyβre the most welcoming bunch of people and a seriously amazing band. Go check βem out live, great package with COC and Pinkus, guaranteed great evening if you ask me!
