About this poster
“When I was invited to create a poster for the 40th anniversary of Master of Puppets, I explored multiple concepts inspired by different songs. The final direction centered on my interpretation of ‘Disposable Heroes.’
Through revisions, I simplified the composition into a towering figure sowing the album’s iconic crosses. I initially planned a detailed border with lilies and marble elements to evoke a memorial tone, but ultimately removed it to keep the focus on the central image—retaining only the marble Metallica logo.
What began as a song-specific concept evolved into something broader—an image that, to me, reflects the full weight and legacy of the album. A monumental figure of death planting crosses into the earth, much like the way this record has left its mark on so many lives, including my own.
