Super stoked to present new work for @billystrings - for his back to back shows here at @bridgestonearenaofficial tonight and tomorrow! It’s been a few years since I’ve whipped up work for the bluegrass rogue, so I was super pleased to get another stab at it.
When concepting and coming up with ideas for this - the Billy team wanted me to avoid usual Nashville tropes like neon broadway signs or a ton of western/country musical instruments… I also happened to be crafting my new DnD character for my current campaign, so the idea of my own character (merged with Billy) fighting a fire breathing raccoon dragon (the state animal of TN) was born. This was a blast to illustrate - including the Tenn. 3 star banners and the Batman castle keep, and I hope y’all dig it as much as I do. The fire splashing was a challenge and a half, but I’m reeeeeal happy with how it came out 💃 scroll to the end for the sketch that got the ball rolling!
@ladylazarustx cooked up the prints for these - in both a regular and a “dragons keep” gold foil variant. They’ll have them available at the shows tonight and tomorrow - and I’ll have AP copies up in my shop on Sunday, Feb 22 at 12 NOON CT. I’ll have cut versions of each night and variant, as well as uncut copies of both variants as well.
