About this poster
They are the inventors of heavy metal, and set down the foundations for an entire genre with a pair of monumental releases in 1970. First, delivering their self-titled debut album in June before cementing their legacy forevermore with one of the greatest sophomore records of all time, Paranoid, in September of the same year.
It was no surprise then that their December 20, 1970 concert in Paris has been hailed to be one of the best. The event, which happened at the L’Olympia, Paris, captured the band at the peak of their summit, and it was the perfect event in Black Sabbath history to commemorate!
"I remember visiting Norte Dame many years ago and I was blown away by its beauty so when I was asked to create a poster for the legendary Black Sabbath for one of their Paris shows I knew right away where to look for inspiration. To me the Gargoyles always seemed to be alive watching silently over the city for centuries."
