DERO: East by Jermaine Rogers features the return of the artist’s iconic Dero character, reimagined in an East Asian–inspired setting. Two panda-like Dero bears with glowing red eyes and mischievous expressions appear among bamboo stalks and falling autumn maple leaves, rendered in a warm palette of greens, reds, and oranges.
Part of Rogers’ ongoing Dero mythology, the figures are disguised as giant pandas—covert operatives working in plain sight. Along the side of the image are four Chinese characters—怒 (anger), 協 (cooperation), 平 (peace), 權 (power)—representing opposing forces and balance within the Dero world.
This 7-color screenprint blends playful imagery with subtle menace and symbolic depth, a hallmark of Rogers’ signature style.
