Moby Grape San Francisco 67 Mouse Studios (RP-3) - Regular Edition, FD-43

Moby Grape

About this poster

On January 13, 1967, The Charlatans played the first of two shows at San Francisco’s Avalon Ballroom with Moby Grape and The Sparrow (later Steppenwolf). Titled Moby Grape, this is the 43rd poster in the Family Dog series. Designed by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, the artwork features actress Alla Nazimova in an unused photographic still by Arthur Rice from the 1923 silent film Salome.

This reprint of the Moby Grape poster was produced by California Litho Plate for Kama Sutra Records long after the original concert. It includes the “Double-H Press” credit like OP-2, but unlike the original, the stock does not fluoresce under black light. Measures approximately 14 1/32″ × 19 59/64″.
