About this poster
It’s an honor to share my poster art for the Who 60th anniversary series, with my design focusing on none other than the epic Quadrophenia. They are one of those bands I grew up with and have always been around and loved, with my mom loving them and showing them to me and my siblings. My parents took us to see them (my brother @lukegonz1 favorite concert experience) and seeing them play “Love Reign O’er Me” was an absolute highlight of the show.
This poster draws inspiration from of course the album and movie “Quadrophenia,” channeling the vibrant “Mod” subculture that defined the era and the characters throughout. The moped, a central symbol of Mod identity and seen throughout the movie, serves as the focal point, surrounded by psychedelic patterns and bold colours that evoke the album’s themes of self-discovery and rebellion. The checkerboard motif and stylized typography reinforce the retro aesthetic, tying together the film and album’s visual and cultural essence.
