About this poster
It’s always a blast working with the Primus crew, mainly because they let me have fun and go in almost any direction I ask us to go when drafting sketches. Our last poster was so fun, I figured I’d ask to continue the trend of posters inspired by video games (the street fighter jaunt was last!), and what better way to pay homage to the master bass Les wields on stage than to do a Zelda homage!! I’ve always loved the idea of the master sword being buried deep within the forest, plunged into a stone you can only pull it from when you’re *ready*, so I wanted to do just that - a mystical forest at the base of Mt. Rainier with the master bass front and center, illuminated by a beam of light and energy flowing around it.
This was a BLAST, I wanted to try to keep everything in a blue tinted tone with some nice pops of warm neutrals here and there - and to try to keep things a bit softer than normal, and I’m super stoked on how it came out.
