Originally featured as the official gig poster for Sturgill Simpson’s Berkeley 2025 performance, Hungry Hands evolved into a standalone art print due to popular demand. The piece builds upon themes introduced in an earlier work inspired by Simpson’s music and a shadowy poem about a strange girl and her even stranger friends.
At the heart of the image is the "Boney Man"—a haunting figure from the poem, whose presence lingers like a warning:
“She hung about the Boney Man
as if she couldn't understand
No comfort hides in hungry hands
His greatest gift is Taking.”
Rich with layered meaning and eerie symbolism, Hungry Hands serves as both a tribute and an expansion—connecting lyrical storytelling with stark, emotional imagery.
