About this poster
This artwork was originally created as a concert poster for Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds' second night (N2) performance in Nashville in 2017, designed by artist James Flames. This particular version is a variant print of that original concert poster.
The design wonderfully captures the spirit of Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds' acoustic performances with its dreamlike atmosphere. The guitar detail at the base of the tree is a subtle nod to the musical nature of the event. The cosmic portal and exploring figure could be interpreted as representing the journey that music takes both performers and listeners on, while the orbs hanging from the tree branches add a festive concert atmosphere to the scene.
The overall composition maintains the title theme "Always Searching, Always Finding" which resonates with both the exploratory nature of Dave and Tim's musical collaborations and the visual narrative of discovery portrayed in the artwork.
"This piece has had a long journey for me. It started as a poster illustration last year, but I felt like it still had more to say, more for me to explore. So I started this painting again from scratch, and I think that now, finally, its story is complete!
