About this poster
This poster marks Allen’s first piece of art following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated New Orleans, destroyed his print shop, and damaged his home. Continuing the Skywald horror-mood comic theme, the artwork is designed to resemble a vintage back-cover ad, teasing the eerie stories that would unfold within. A previous poster with this same theme was featured on his Rob Zombie/Mastodon tour poster.
The illustration depicts Glenn Danzig transforming into a werewolf—a tale of the cursed, rendered in the style of classic '70s horror comics. Allen felt it was only fitting to portray Glenn this way, as both he and Danzig share a deep appreciation for comic books. This shared passion made the project an enjoyable escape from the lingering hardships of Katrina’s impact.
Glenn Danzig has left an indelible mark on music, art, and culture. Allen’s first punk record was Evilive, and its raw aggression paired with sci-fi horror themes resonated deeply with him. Danzig remains one of Allen’s favorite musicians, making this collaboration especially meaningful.
This tour also marked Danzig’s farewell—though not a complete departure—as he continues to produce outstanding comics through his company, Verotik, with future plans to venture into film. Supporting the release of Circle of Snakes, this tour was significant as it featured the first true Misfits reunion with Danzig on vocals since their 1983 breakup. Original Misfits guitarist Doyle (of Gorgeous Frankenstein) joined Danzig and his band to revive their legendary sound.
The concert itself was electrifying, kicking off with SkinCarver and delivering a set packed with bone-crushing tracks. Unfortunately, as is often the case, there were a few disruptive attendees—paying fans who seemed more interested in causing trouble than enjoying the show. These individuals were quickly dealt with by the crowd, ensuring the night remained an unforgettable experience.
