About this poster
This poster features an image created using a photograph of Jimi Hendrix taken by Donald Silverstein. Colored wires were intricately arranged to form Hendrix's portrait, which was then re-photographed to produce the final design.
This is not an original German concert poster. The Jimi Hendrix Experience did not play in Stuttgart on January 15, 1969.
This poster was made as merchandise to be sold during the Jimi Hendrix Experience U.S. tour in April & May 1969. Distributed by Darien House, a U.S. poster company.
At the bottom right of the image, above the word Experience, it says: "© 1969 by Gunther Kieser. A contemporary poster classic created by Gunter Kieser for Lippman-Rau concerts, distributed exclusively by Darien House Inc., New York City 10023. Printed in West Germany.
