About this poster
Aaaay... look what just got announced. Before I babble a bit, the poster drop from HQ is on Thursday the 18th which is my birthday! YAY! Next month I will have a few APs available to buy, and there will be foils (which are my favorite, I'll post a vid here... I'm so happy with them.) But if you just dig the poster and you really want one, just for sheer chance in numbers please try to grab one from HQ because you'll have more of a chance of getting one. I'll get into more details next month but a portion of the sale from my APs will go to the All Within My Hands Foundation because they rule.
Many months ago a couple of us were asked to pick a lyric off the new album and create our own interpretation, which is an artist's dream gig. I've been doing this for myself since I was 12 years old.
My brain immediately went to, “Misery, she loves me, oh, but I love her more.” Inamorata is by far my favorite song on the new record. The song speaks to my soul and experiences because the realm of mental health and mental wellness has always been important to me. I’ve
been navigating my way around those areas for a long time, and the idea of depression, anxiety, or even addiction being personified as a mistress is such a great concept for a song. That attractiveness… that pull of being comfortable in such spaces just because they’re familiar – even though they’re pulling the life out of you – is very, very real.
James’ lyrics in “Inamorata” and essentially James as a person have been pretty “big” to fans in this regard. He’s embraced that hard road, and he’s moved on from the “unbreakable METAL MACHISMO” that we all had in some form, and shown that there are times to say, “Hey, I’m not ok right now; I need help,” which is a great thing. I’m so happy about the stigmas being broken in that regard.
Part of pulling yourself out of that mess is finding your purpose in life. People need a North Star, which is what the All Within My Hands Foundation does. It helps people find their purpose when they need a little help. When these APs go on sale, I'll be donating $25 from the sales of each poster to the charity.
