About this poster
This is probably my darkest poster that I’ve done for @metallica which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s certainly a lot more violent than I tend to go for! However I wanted to create something raw and emotional in keeping with the themes of their latest album 72 Seasons. The main influence being the song Screaming Suicide but I also have a crown of barbed wire thrown in there too. The warrior is tangled up in the branches of the family tree representing family trauma. His flesh covered in feathers, perhaps a fallen angel trying to break free? His blood the colour of the light, a symbol of hope. Cut down that what binds you, not yourself.
