Scheduled to be the tenth show in the "Anarchy In The UK Tour", scheduled acts included the Sex Pistols, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, The Damned & The Clash. However, due to a November 1, 1976 appearance by the Sex Pistols (six days after the release of their first single, "Anarchy In The UK") on Bill Grundy's "Today", guitarist Steve Jones called the host "a dirty bastard" & "a dirty fucker". Public outrage cancelled 16 of the 19 dates on the Tour, including this stop in Bristol.
