About this poster
18 x 24 – 4 color silkscreen on jet black paper (2 transparent whites, metallic gold and shiny black varnish) – S/N edition of 300 (I only have 60 to sell) – Since the band is a duo, I wanted the print to function as a set with a theme of 2’s throughout: 2 smoke rings, 2 different card suits in each print and 2 band members. I just like the way smoke rings look, their shape and texture, and I thought a film noir vibe would be an interesting way to represent the band’s stay in Vegas. The tire tracks in the background are a nod to Akron and the Rubber Factory era of the Black Keys. It’s tough to see the black tracks from here but they give the print a little painterly texture in person.
