About this poster

This piece was inspired by Occasio, a 15th century deity symbolising fortuity of the moment. 🗡🗡💨

Occasio has winged feet and walks on tiptoe because she is always in a hurry and moves like the wind; she carries a razor in her right hand because she (her action in time) is narrower than a blade. She has long hair in front that you have to grab her by as you walk past; she is bare behind, so that once she has rushed past, you cannot grasp her.

‘Beauty is always opportune and the locks of hair on her forehead meant that one should seize opportunity as it approaches, because, after the moment for action passes, you can't recover it.’

- Liane Plant
