About this poster
I've been looking at a lot of Japanese woodblock prints lately, looking at their compositions and how fun/cool all of the characters can be. No one asks the artists to put octopi in the prints but that's become a thing that most of us do and when I was brainstorming ideas for this print I thought of how I'd seen all of these fun prints where an octopus is a sushi chef. There are a bunch of other characters hanging around too, and I tried to get the feeling of a street restaurant open late at night. I really just wanted to make a fun scene out of the influences rattling around in my head at the moment.
