“For this piece I chose to focus on lyrics for the song A Forest from the album Seventeen Seconds. The song's lyrics evoke a dreamlike quality, with references to chasing shadows and the mysterious allure of the forest. Themes of isolation, dreaming, pursuit, loss and fear consume this song. All feelings or emotions I would imagine most people have experienced at some point in their lives. The final image for this poster is my representation of those sentiments with a modern twist.
What if the song's protagonist was having this storied account in the world of VR or in the metaverse? It feels somewhat appropriate, especially when reading lyrics like, "All alone... The girl was never there... It's always the same... I'm running towards nothing.... Again and again and again and again..."
