“The Cure has such an enormous and iconic catalog that made it a bit intimidating to pick a place to start. It’s a common scene in Minneapolis to see ospreys nesting in urban settings, atop telephone poles and other structures originally intended for something else. There’s a certain romanticism to that. Couple that with the idea of nature taking back a small bit of space that was once its own that seemed to fit, a spirit of defiance and companionship despite the bleakness the world so often delivers. It felt right to me and the imagery reflects how I feel listening to The Cure.”
