About this poster
I wanted to explain the concept behind this Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds piece. The toucan is the "Keel-bill Toucan", a native of Mexico. The round perch is "Ouroboros" a circular symbol depicting a snake/dragon, swallowing its tail, as an emblem of wholeness or infinity. Fused with "Quetzalcoatl", the Feathered-Serpent deity of ancient Mesoamerican culture. And finally, the patterns on the left and right side are inspired by "Talavera", a traditional Mexican style of pottery and design.
