The relationship with Beast and Rider is complicated, but critically is not based on dominance. The attempt to “tame” a beast is a grisly death. A Rider is one who exists “with” a Beast, providing Libran tech and…influence. In return, the Beast provides adaptability, a means of travel and safety in the unforgiving realm of the wasteland. All that awaits them in the wilds of the Du’kurti is be more survivable by their symbiotic relationship. The Pale Rider survives.
