About this poster
"The goal for this piece was to create an image marrying the energy of the Phish’s legendary performances with hints of my heritage as well as scenic references to the city (since this is my first hometown poster in some time). In accordance, the CN Tower features prominently in the composition’s center, with each of the remaining four letters in the band’s name emanating one of the four elements of life (P/Fire, H/Earth, S/Wind and H/Water), symbolizing the roiling alchemical balance created by the band’s live shows. A Chinese dragon and phoenix intertwine around the city’s most well-known landmark in n energetic rift connecting heaven and earth. Various other creatures and critters referencing Toronto and the band’s discography litter the landscape to create an explosive and surreal scene that I hope the Phans find as fun to experience and pick apart as the band’s music." - MT
