"So. This happened. It's a true pleasure and unbelievable honour to unveil my official/licensed METALLICA poster for June 18th, 2017 at Chicago's Soldier Field! The band are touring in support of the current album (Hardwired To Self-Destruct) but artists were allowed to take inspiration from any part of the band's legacy, so I sought influence from their first five (my favourite) albums. The composition's border is from the cover of Kill 'Em All and portrays The Four Horsemen as embodiments of the following four albums.
At the top of the hour is the Horseman of Conquest/Time as a thrash-influenced speed freak representing Ride The Lightning. Next is the flaming red sword-wielding rider of War who symbolizes Master Of Puppets. Third is the bringer of Famine/Pestilence, bearing a set of scales in reference to the cover of Justice For All, his horse's skin diseased, rotten, and covered in boils. The final figure is a scythe-wielding hooded reaper representing Death, harbouring serpents that slither in and out of its body in reference to the band's self-titled/Black album." - MT
