About this poster
"First, it's a self portrait and a one off for a group show that didn't really have a theme. A little bit of what I was thinking when I made it - the image was spawned from the idea that social media tends to stroke egos rather than push us to get better at whatever it is we're doing. In most cases, it's about instant gratification and a dopamine fix. So I'd like to embrace the "hater" to promote artistic critique and growth of self. We need those haters to make us questions if what we're doing is the right path. And then, out popped this painting!" - RR
