About this poster
"With the majority of this years tour cancelled, I wanted to share a response I created. I am a graphic designer who is always attracted to emotion and energy through visual stimulus, mainly simplicity and minimalism. The donut is the iconic reference for the band, and an X, as a graphic, is a cultural phenomenon known to all on many levels even before the Covid crises was fully understood. X can refer to “Crossed Out”, “Do Not Enter”, “Not Gonna Happen”, and worse yet, “Cancelled” or “Postponed”. In addition to the above, X now refers to “Stand Here” in relation to someone else since March of this year. Many of us prefer to stand closer together.
I wanted to create something simple, minimal and effective that reminds us all of the time that will pass with one simple glance. The concept of a poster is for informative, memorable, and engaging situations that elicit a response. It could be a memory. It could be an action. In some instances, their communication reflects on the negative, and moments we wish to discard or never knew. I do not want to forget this moment because I can not wait to see this band, and all of their fans again, now more than ever. I can not wait to look at this poster in 2021, or sooner, and think, that moment has ended." - CH
