The morning light or morning star is another name for Venus and the ancient Akkadian goddess, Ishtar who was allegedly one of the oldest recorded dieties in human history.
Surrounding Ishtar is the Ouroboros, or serpent eating its tail, representing the continuous cycle of rebirth. Here I have Ishtar on top of mushrooms growing out of the heads of apes. This represents Terrence McKenna's stoned ape theory, where he hypothesized that early homonids ate small amounts of psychedelic mushrooms when foraging for food. These psychedelic mushrooms stimulated growth in their brains over time leading to wisdom and intelligence to survive, but also lead to early formations of language, art and religion. Its a wild theory thats contested, but also a fun one to think about.
